Mastering all manufacturing processes enables COUSIN Trestec to create the right product
for the right application.

Diameters from 0.5 mm to 80 mm with up to 150 Tons Minimum Breaking Load

Standard or made-to-measure products that are developed to obtain the required performances :

- lightweight   - abrasion resistance (mechanical or chemical)   - minimum whiplash (very low elongation)

- selected fibers and yarns - special treatments : dry, fire retardant - heat resistance - kinetic energy - nonmagnetic and noncorrosive - minimum or maximum breaking load

- extrele kengths (up to several dozens of km) - replacing metal or stainless steel wire rope - bending fatigue

Breaking strengths depend on the terminaisons adapted to the synthetic fiber cables.
COUSIN Trestec applies end terminations that preserve the breaking strength of its cables.
(N.B. a simple knot can reduce the breaking stregth of a rope or twine by up to 50%)

Replacing steel wire

Because Trestec’s products are nonmagnetic, noncorrosive, or simply light, more users
of steel wire are thinking over alternatives for existing configurations, or develop new
offers by taking advantage of the fact that, size for size, breaking strengths of defined
textile cables are virtually equal those of steel wire ropes .

A 3’000 m cable with a 30 Tons breaking strength weighs :
- synthetic fiber cable : 150 kg (in water)
- steel wire : 4.5 Tons (in water)
